English lesson A6a 7.12.2010

Story: Betty the cow (song)

Worksheets: Worksheet p. 6, HW – Robot sheet


Warm-up: We start the lesson with a Hello song. We sing, move a lot and answer the question: What shall we do now? We wake Cookie up and sit down in a circle. We talk about ourselves. We say the winter chant and play with the snow-cotton.

Topic: We play with two dice a game “Who first?”, we try to say the colours on both big and small dice as soon as possible. We talk about colours on flashcards. We sing a song about Betty the cow and move a lot. We play a game with Betty: we listen to the song again and find the colours in the field. We count all the flowers. We open our Small Books and colour the flowers while listening to the song again.

Follow-up: We say a chant while tidying-up. We bring our homework and talk about food in our cat's tummy. We talk about the new homework – a robot sheet. We are awarded by a sticker for our smiley-book and a toys sheet for our portfolio. We say Goodbye chant and give a big hug to Cookie.

Play the following game:

Let your child to use some imagination and have fun. Pretend being a very hungry Betty the cow, while saying the following chant: Betty the cow was walking one morning in the field. I'm hungry I want to something to eat! I want ….!

Say some unusual things to make your child laugh. Then pretend to eat them.
